About Us
The Central Bar was first established in 1861 the first owner was Sarah McHenry. Since then the Central Bar has had different owners and the current McHenry Family took over in 2000 and have extended and refurbished a once small bar into an award winning complex hosting a bar, night club, restaurant and private beer garden. The Central Wine Bar Restaurant opened in 2007 and has proved to be a great success and a great asset to Ballycastle. Philip & Gemma McHenry both work here alongside with their children Nichola, Aaron, Cara and Michael and a great team of staff from bar to kitchen enhances the family atmosphere.
The Central Bar is undergoing a major renovation, we hope to provide a taditional bar with the best in irish comfort and hospitality. We will still aim for the best entertainment for our customers pleasure. Due to re-open in march.
