My Wife and i stopped to have our lunch in the central bar, my wife is ceoliac and on the menu no options were available, however we asked the waitress and she arranged with the Chef to make my wife a special ceoliac friendly meals both a starter and main course.l. The food was amazing and the staff were excellent, nothing was a bother. we have been lucky to have experienced a lot of good restaurants and i can easily say the central Bar is the best we have experienced to date. Great food, great staff and amazing value for money.
Best Spaghetti Ever
We both had the Spaghetti and no word of a lie its the best spaghetti ive ever eaten! Staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the atmosphere was great. The food was not even that expensive either. I believe it was £25 for two pints and two plates of spaghetti. This is a must eat place in Ballycastle
Great for every thing you want, dinner, drinks, cocktails, music
Me and my girlfriend found this place a few weeks ago on a Saturday. we went in for lunch after a walk on the beach had such a nice lunch. We asked the bar man did he know any nice b&bs and he got us one inside five Minutes. So we booked a table for upstairs every thing was perfect. Food was great and had a lovely bottle of wine. And my girlfriend had a few to many cocktails she loved them The only thing I can say bad about this place is that it isn't in Belfast. It beats the like of 10square and all them places just because every one was so friendly not just the staff but the locals. I'm in love with the central bar and I'm in love with ballycastle.
Little Gem in Ballycastle
was at this restaurant in late August with my family made up of six adults and two children. The staff were great and very efficient and it was not very long before we had our starters which were excellent. All portions were generous including the child meals. After the starters were cleared away it did not take long before the main course arrived and again there was no complaints about quality or quantity. We were so impressed with the quality of the meals that we were back again before the end of our short break in Ballycastle
Warm welcoming pub on a damp, chilly day
After driving the costal road visiting the attractions all day, we were looking for a cozy place to have dinner. The host of our B&B recommended McHenry's Central Bar in Ballycastle. We entered the restaurant and were shown to a nice table for two located in a little alcove, near the window and in front of the warm fireplace. The fire felt good after the cool drizzly day we had. We were served by a sweet, red headed waitress who wanted to go to the states to work so she could earn a lot of money. I ordered a pint of Guinness and my wife had a glass of Shiraz to warm her up. She ordered a giant hamburger and chips (fries), and I ordered a chicken chilli pasta dish with a Caesar salad. Both were good hearty meals to end a cold, damp day. This was a terrific pub with attentive, friendly service wonderful atmosphere and delicious food.
What a place to eat.
Central Wine Bar in Ballycastle is one of the best places I have ever ate at. The atmosphere is just amazing, as are all the staff and especially Phil, the owner. The food was excellent, everyone in our family group agree. The children were very well catered for, with the staff making them feel very special. There was live music which was amazing and just added to the electrifying atmosphere. Our group consisted of young children thru to a pensioner, everyone was very well catered for. Prices are very reasonable for the food, service and atmosphere that are provided. Overall the Central Wine Bar is an excellent place to eat and drink. Five Stars All-round. We will be back.
